Education Abroad Advising

One of the most important services that CUAbroad offers is for applicants to be able to meet in person with the Director and the Program Manager and ask questions about programs, academic planning, and more. 

We offer group advising, individual advising appointments, e-advising and walk-in meetings.

Group Advising
At the beginning of planning for education abroad participation, all students are requested to attend a mandatory informational meeting we call Education Abroad 101: Getting Started.  Either before or soon after this meeting, students are strongly urged to make an appointment with their academic advisor(s) to obtain permission to pursue their application further with academic planning.

Individual Advising
After attending the Education Abroad 101: Getting Started meeting, prospective participants are welcome to make an appointment with either the Global Program Manager or with the Director of Education Abroad to discuss matters of personal nature or circumstances unique to their planned participation. These confidential advising sessions are scheduled for a half hour and can be made by contacting CUAbroad.  

E-Advising
If students have one or two specific questions, they can send an email to our main email address and available staff will provide a brief answer or point them in the right direction (the appropriate person or resource).

Walk-in Advising
Walk-in advising meetings are held on Thursdays and Fridays between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. No appointment is necessary.  Walk-in advising sessions last approximately 10-15 minutes which gives students an opportunity to have a couple of questions answered to help continue with the application process or with preparation for study abroad.   

Returning students are always welcome to stop by and say hello and speak with us about their experiences or ask for advice on how to take advantage of their experience, search for grad schools abroad, pursue international internships, or about any other matter.
