The Autumn Advantage Scholarship

CUAbroad is committed to assisting deserving CUA students with financing their education abroad by offering a new scholarship directly funded by CUAbroad.
 
The goal of the scholarship is to encourage participation in fall semester programs offered at non-traditional locations (Latin America, Asia, Africa).
 
This scholarship is for fall study abroad only. The scholarship is for up to $1,000 and will be posted to the student's CUA account.
 
Eligibility
All applicants must meet the following criteria at the time of application:

1. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
2. Meet all education abroad eligibility requirements
3. Plan to study abroad in a country outside of Western Europe (including the UK & Ireland), Australia, or New Zealand).
Restrictions:
- Tuition exchange recipients are not eligible
- Spring and summer programs are not eligible for this scholarship.
Application Procedures & Materials
  1. Submit a one-page typed scholarship application essay that is separate from the biographical essay required for the program application. This essay should 1. state that you are applying for this scholarship, 2. describe why you think you deserve the scholarship, and 3. describe how the scholarship will help you financially and enhance your education abroad plans. 
  2. Optional supplement: Financial aid award letter that demonstrates financial need (if you are planning on using additional grants/loans to finance your education abroad program)

Please note that your your CUA transcript and letters of recommendation will also be considered during the application review.  Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Application Deadline: April 1

Applications may be submitted at the same time as program applications but no later than April 1.  Please note that program application deadlines may be earlier than the scholarship application deadline.  Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
